Was born on November 12, 1950 in Moscow. Ruslan Smeliansky graduated from Department of Computing Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Moscow State University (1977).

The Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences (1990), the Professor of Moscow State University, the Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS).

Ruslan Smeliansky was awarded with a medal “The Honored worker of a science of the Russian Federation”.
